SACS Booth

We were excited to have a booth this year at the Sparta Area Cancer Support (SACS) for their annual Walk Rally, in Sparta, Wisconsin.  This very worthwhile organization is dedicated to raising funds to support Cancer research and helping local cancer patients and their families. 

What:  Sparta Area Cancer Support Walk Rally

When:  Friday, 21 August 2009

Where:  Sparta Football Field

Time:  Gates Opened at 4:00 PM; Opening Ceremony:  6:00 PM

Last year was the first time we attended this impressive event.  The event consisted of various methods of fund-raising to include:

  • Purchase of luminaries (candles in honor of survivors & in memory of loved ones lost to cancer)
  • Walkers taking pledges for their cancer walk
  • Purchase of raffle tickets for prizes
  • Purchase of baked goods
  • Entertainment

Along with the fund-raising, attendees will also see:

  • A wonderful ceremony honoring (by name) the survivors in attendance
  • An impressive balloon release
  • Much more!

We were honored to have been given permission to set up our booth at this worthy event this year. 

There are many ways to give.  We, at the Sanctuary For Cancer Caregivers, supported this event in 2008 with a financial contribution and with prize donations for the raffles and the purchase of luminaries.  We didthe same for the 2009 Walk, as well. 

There is an unusually high rate of cancer in our area.  It is wonderful to see our community pull together and open up their wallets to help this most worthy of causes.  We hope YOU contribute to your local cancer fund-raising events also.  This devastating disease touches so many we know.
